Eucalyptus essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of wood and leaves of Eucalyptus globulus. The essential oil is colorless and has a distinctive fresh scent of eucalyptus. It is a clear liquid without sediment. Free of added solvents, preservatives, coloring agents or antioxidants. The main components of the Eucalyptus essential oil are: cineol (eucalyptol), piperitone, phellandrene, limonene and citral.
Usage
It is used for cosmetic purposes, e.g. the creams, soaps. When it is used as cosmetic in very high concentrations, it may irritate the skin. The recommended concentration in cosmetic products should not exceed 3-6%. Suitability for use must be tested by the producer of product.
