Product name
Coconut oil , refined 1 kg , INCI: Cocos nucifera oil
Information
Refined coconut oil is without scent and has white or pale yellow colour. Coconut oil is produced from copra (dried meat or dried kernel of coconut) during refining the oil is filtered and deodorised. Coconut oil is hard fat due to the high content of saturated fatty acids: it is composed from around 45% of lauric acid, the rest is mostly capric acid, caprylic acid and myristic acid. At higher temperatures (e.g. during frying) smaller degradation is expected than in case of liquid oils. Its most common usage in cosmetics is in shampoos, creams and soaps. It gives a harder consitency to the cosmetics. In case of soap production the high contents of saponified coconut oil may cause the drying of the skin.Usage
Refined cocnut oil can be used as food (e.g. for frying) and cosmetic purposes (shampoos, creams, soaps and massage oils). The suitability of usage should be tested by the producer of the final product.Specification
