Resin obtained from the sap of certain species of acacia (Acacia senegal and A. seyal), which grow in North Africa, the major producer is Sudan.It can be also used as a binder of liquid substances especially essential oils. Arabic gum has not its own distinctive scent.
Usage
It is used in medicine as adhesive postage stamps and the papers for packaging tobacco, part rubber or fixative in painting.
