Information
Elderberry flower extract from European elderberry (Sambucus Nigra) in propylene glycol. The extract has a characteristic taste and weak smell of elderberry flower. It is a light brown, slightly viscous liquid. A small amount of precipitate is not a quality defect.
The elderberry has small white or cream-colored flowers. They are used to make elderflower cordial or syrup, from which marshmallows can be made. From physiological point the most important compounds found in elderberries and their flowers are flavonoids (quercetin, isoquercetin and anthocyanins), cinnamic acid and triterpenoids. GMO free
Usage
It is primarily used for cosmetic purposes, e.g. creams, lotions, face masks. The suitability of usage should be tested by the producer of the final product.
